The three Prince Henry trips of the years 1908-1910 were the successors of the three Herkomer-competitions taking place from 1905 to 1907. The aim of these functions were touring trips that should serve automobile tourism and help to design even better touring cars. However there were also tests with a clearly competitive racing character. The regulations of the Prince Henry trips stipulated that only four-seated four- and six-cylinder vehicles which were allowed to drive on public streets and had at least a kilometre reading of 2,000 km on the day of inspection were allowed to take part. For the Prince Henry trips a couple of special touring cars were constructed. |
